I am directed by Mr. Secretary Creech Jones to thank you for your letter of the 23rd February about the petition regarding the Hong Kong Hotels Control Bill and to say that a telegram has been received from the (lovernor on the subject.
The
The Governor states that the petition has been received by him and will be forwarded to London shortly with his comments. It will then be considered by the secretary of State. Governor did not consider that it would be in the public interest to defer action on the Bill, which passed the third reading on the 23rd instant.
